CHRISpark
Built in 2005, Chrispark is the Foundation’s one-acre public green space named in honor of Pace’s son, who died in 1997. It is San Antonio’s only privately owned and operated public park. It features lush foliage, inviting walkways, areas of repose, sites of play, and most significantly, encounters with art—exhibiting works from the collection as well as work by contemporary artists. Artist Teresita Fernandez conceived visual experiences in the park. CHRISpark embodies Pace’s visionary commitment to building community through gifts advancing art and promoting education.

Artpace San Antonio
Artpace is a contemporary art center located in downtown San Antonio, Texas, with residencies, exhibitions, and education programs that nurture the freedom to dream. Artpace supports the creative process and engage audiences with the most innovative art and artists from around the world.

Artpace is a separate and distinct non-profit organization, also founded by the late Linda Pace (1945-2007), to foster the appreciation and advancement of contemporary art. The Foundation is proud to help support Artpace’s International Artist-in-Residence program, which invites artists from around the world to live and work at Artpace, while creating new works of art.

Since 1995, Artpace has welcomed more than 199 artists through its renowned International Artist-in-Residence program. Three residencies each feature one Texas artist, one national artist, and one international artist, who are selected by a notable guest curator. Each eight-week residency culminates in a two-month exhibition on site. The mission of this program is to provide artists with unparalleled resources that allow them to experiment with new ideas and take provocative risks.
